Mental Health is a topic of growing interest and concern. More and more people struggle to find balance and clarity within themselves. Yet our state of mind is so directly linked to our wellbeing and quality of our lives altogether.
What comes to your mind when I say „health”? If you think only about the physical state of your body, you should urgently reconsider your perspective.
According to World Health Organization, „health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.” And there is growing evidence on the importance of the fusion of all these aspects towards one’s general health.
What is mental health?
Mental health is the state of emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It has a word to say in every aspect of our lives. The choices we make, the thoughts we think, the actions we undertake, the relationships we build, the goals we set – all of them (and so much more!) are the work of our minds.
It is our mind which perceives our reality in a certain way. So to live a high-quality life, we must first tackle the chaos and insecurities of our minds.
„Tell me something I don’t know”, would you say? Alright. Here it is.
The great paradox
Have you ever assumed that it is THAT job you need to succeed? Or is THAT relationship all it takes to feel content? Or THAT opportunity to put your strengths in the best light?
Then how about all those celebrities who had it all, yet… couldn’t handle it? History is full of sounds names who achieved great success but lived in loneliness and despair. Indeed have they built empires. But they did so on poor foundations.
And yes, you must’ve guessed by now.
Our minds are the foundation of our reality
Money, financial success, sound careers, all of these are great. But they have never been enough for human content and joy. All these things surely can enhance our happiness, but never be the primary source of it.
Let’s make it clear. If you have a peaceful mind living in a healthy body, you can surely go for literally ANYTHING you feel like going after. Building an inspiring career, an empire of a business, making a living out of your passions, creating a beautiful family – everything can be won. It exists. It is real. It is yours to create.
But… only once you’re at peace deep down inside. In your mind.
You see, it doesn’t go the other way around. All those things can hardly ever bring you inner peace and joy. And this is something you can never negotiate upon.
We are unique, but fighting the same inner wars
Each of us is bold and unique. Beautiful souls with different life experiences that shaped us. Yet now more than ever we should come together as one. We should grow up and understand that a whole world is going through what we are going through. Fighting the same inner fights to find purpose, peace, and joy.
Feeling lonely. Or depressed. Or lost. Or insecure. Or different. Or desperate. All of them altogether, or none. Either way, it’s ok.
It is ok
It is ok to feel whatever we are feeling. Accepting and feeling our emotions is the starting point towards healing ourselves inside out and finding peace of mind.
And there is compassion in this acceptance.
And where is compassion, there is hope.
And where is hope, there is love and light.
And that’s exactly what we are after, my friends.
Finding peace, love, and light within ourselves.
To live a life full of joy and fulfillment, we should start prioritizing the health & strength of our minds. We should bulletproof and calm our beautiful, yet constantly wondering minds. And build from there.
